Two Kinds of Edging

I have not posted anything new to this series for some time, feeling I had said what I wanted to say. But I have some new ideas that warrant discussion.

I have found myself practicing two forms of edging, which I refer to as closed and open edging. Or clenched versus relaxed edging.

My earlier posts here described closed or clenched edging. The muscles you use to clamp off a stream of piss are the same muscles you use to resist cumming. I spoke of urging the cock to want to cum, then feeling the muscles fight to hold back. This is certainly a worthwhile way to spend an afternoon.

But I have evolved into a second technique of edging that has its place in other circumstances. Instead of clenching down the muscles to control the urge to cum, I do just the opposite, basically opening the gates wide open and trying to keep the sex muscles relaxed.

Here' how it works. When I get really close to spilling, instead of clamping down the muscles to control the cum, I just interrupt the stroke and relax to let the momentary urgency subside. Instead of locking the gates, the gates are open but I just don't push the cum all the way to the gates.

Here's another way I look at it. Imagine a ball on a plank that you can tilt back and forth. (Or imagine cum on the plank.) The ball runs downhill and nears the end of the plank. If the ball rolls off the end of the plank, that is the equivalent of cumming. With closed/clenching edging, you lock down and essentially put a barrier on the plank to prevent the ball from spilling over. With open/relaxed edging, when the ball nears the end of the plank, you tip the plank back slightly, so the ball doesn't spill over.

Open/relaxed edging is delicious, because the gates are always open. I love giving my sex muscles the exotic workout of prolonged closed edging, pushing the muscles past their limits. But at other times, I love the wide open feeling of open edging.

  1. This must be the best blog I've ever seen -- for me that is. Thanks for a carefully thought-out exposition. I'm new to this and expect this has been said, but I haven't seen it. My experience has been different. Clenching engorges me which gets me to the edge faster. Relaxing for me extends the time to the edge -- *and* what's key for me, relaxing the muscles seems to get more of me involved as one progresses to the edge (while not cumming). This sensitizes the whole shaft to the root, rather than the glans focus... Then this can radiate out to rest of the body. The intensity is much greater. For me anyway. This make sense to anyone?

      I was reading the whole blog until I came to your comment and finally I find someone who expresses almost my experience. The whole idea of "relaxing" is to "unfold" the time in your mind. ALL the moments turn out to become magical, illuminating, integrating. You integrate all the sensations from the begining, as if you are alone on the planet, imortal, without any "cultural knowledge" about what IS a cock and HOW to feel or to use it. You learn your cock anew. Also the internal feelings of the begging for an orgasm. The urge to cum transforms to an "internal muscle tension", which you can let flow through your whole body.   2. I seem to remember that your vid shows attention to the glans. I find I get better and better control as I get closer if I keep stroking but slowly work my way down the shaft away from the supersensitive tip.
    By the time I'm on the edge but only stimulating the base couple of inches, things are really intense.
    I'm probably not telling anyone anything new--just haven't seen anyone refer to this *great* technique... Really like to hear what others do...

  3. ... forgot to add that as you work away from the glans, the center of high sensitivity moves too. This is a bit weird since we mostly associate cumming with the tip. But by the time you've shifted the excitement to the base there's huge delicious tension, and it's also kinda easier to back away since the sensation is further from the trigger as I see it. *More* intense, but easier to back off... Does this mean bigger cocks get more pleasure?

  4. ... I *also* forgot to add (lol) my comment on stroking the base and the two kinds of edging -- see show joe's article above on two kinds of edging for his fine description (some guys can get so nicely analytic!), the rise-and-fall kind, and his favorite which is the very-near-the-edge kind.
    My contribution is this: if you work away from the tip as I described above, you can stay very near the edge all the time. More than delicious, as show joe says. Anyone do these things? I'm new here.

  5. ... *also* forgot to add that working from the tip to the base when you are on the edge is a way to stay close to the edge. Show joe describes two kinds of edging, the rise-and-fall kind, and the stay-real-close kind (with his ball-on-plank idea--see above).
    Maybe y'all know this, but I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere. Sure like some feedback...

    (See comments above.) For me, working the cockhead directly is no accident, nor is it a compromise that somehow produces less of an edge. On the contrary, for me it is all about the cockhead. As one of the most sensitive areas of the penis, the more stimulation, the greater the intensity.
    Every cock reacts differently and each person must find what works best for him. There is no one-size-fits-all technique.

I usually cum twice a week but have recently been surprised one night when I got too excited and had 3 complete accidents in a three hour period. Needless to say I'm being very careful lately. I've been doing serious edging for several years now and wish I would have begun enjoying this "sport" many years ago.
